Immediate Life Support
Classroom-based 1 day practical training
The Immediate Life Support course is for all healthcare professionals, whether employed in a permanent role or as agency workers and should be completed annually.
Course Content & Training Modules
Course Aim: To give candidates knowledge and skills to identify cardio-respiratory arrest and teach them the practical interventions and intermediate life support treatment.
The Immediate Life Support (ILS) course is delivered following the Basic Life Support course, and teaches more advanced care which includes:
- Medical emergencies
- Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Choking
- Use of AED
- ABCDE approach and assessment
- Airway management
- Suction
- Oxygen therapy
- Vital signs
Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate valid for 1 year.
